Books will almost always be better. They just can’t pack all the book details into the movies. The HP movies left out the best castle ghost. Like seriously?

in my opinion, best book-to-movie adaptation I ever saw was The Green Mile. I was pleasantly surprised at how well they translated that story into a movie.

The books are much more detailed but the movies are much more magical in my opinion. I guess it’s the nostalgia factor. The theme song always gets me in the feels…

  I’ve never read a Harry Potter book or watched the movies, just wanted to explore something completely different from my usual tastes. I just started the first book and plan to watch the movie to really get a grasp on the story. Thanks for your reply.

  You should give the movie a chance! I would personally recommend you watching the movies first then read the books to fill in the details.

Books!

Films are good til PoA and GoF. WHY REMOVE FRED AND GEORGE? OotP doesn't exist to me. HBP was ok. Both Deathly Hallows's sucked! Was so sloppy and left out all of that re: Dumbeldore.
