What are the biggest fallacies Hollywood portrays about same sex couples?

Gay men being feminine
Gay women being masculine or butch
They always have to come out of the closet or discover they're gay not just I don't know always know and everyone always knew.
Always want to adopt a child or have a surrogate carry a child for them.
No/ very little conflict. Treating same sex relationships like they're this magical thing that never has any issues.
I watched the birdcage a while back. I have noticed that movies portray a very masculine and very feminine partner. I imagine real life isn’t like that most of the time.
Every relationship is different just as every person is different. Some prefer masculine some prefer feminine some a mix of both or either or.
Mostly that one has to be feminine and the other masculine.
This goes for both lesbian and gay couples.
That might be the biggest one
Yeah, my girlfriend and I are both very very feminine.
If I was gay I could see wanting a masculine partner. I live in a Red State so gay people need to be careful about everyone knowing about their sexual orientation. I did meet a guy a few years back, now friends, that I honestly didn’t know was gay.
Yeah it's just misconceptions about the lgbtq community. Media never helps.
Hollywood often depicts same-sex couples through certain stereotypes and misconceptions. One common fallacy is portraying them as overly flamboyant or comedic side characters, rather than as nuanced and complex individuals. Another is the tendency to focus on trauma or conflict in their stories rather than highlighting everyday experiences or positive relationships. Additionally, there's often a lack of diversity within these portrayals, overlooking the variety of backgrounds and stories within the LGBTQ+ community. Inclusive and representative storytelling is crucial for overcoming these stereotypes. 🎬🌈

That either one or both are the woman or man in the relationship
Why is this belief so prevalent I wonder?
Is it because that’s how straight people understand relationships?
I think that's it. But I guess also that tv and movies have to have drama to sell.
Even Bollywood stereotypes them as more feminine
I didn’t know that.
