In a world with Ultima IX, Retribution: Ride to Hell, and Big Rigs Over The Road Racing? It doesn't even crack the top 100. Hell, it's not even the worst Elder Scrolls game.
It IS oversimplified and focused on flashy gimmicks instead of gameplay or story depth, yes, but keep some perspective.

I failed to get in to it since I expected this massively immersive adventure and then saw some immensely immersion breaking stuff. Like super early on a door is locked because you have to get a key together with a companion. He grabs the key, walks up to the door and it just opens. They didn't even bother to make an unlock animation like all the other games i played. But what I do love to do in the game is talk to the random NPC's, I have modded it so that there is an AI in control of all the speech so you can have actual conversation. That does make it immersive.
