Why are many movies unrealistic?

Some of the most unrealistic movies ever are the followings:

- Martial artists fighting nonstoppable after facing debilitating blows that would make anyone (even the strongest person) unconscious at some point. We're only humans after all. No one someone can take several hits in vital organs (chest, kidney, ribs, head, etc) and still be moving as if nothing happened. If so, then either they're on drugs or it's not a human.

- Assailants firing 50 times with good guns and none of them lands on the protagonist of the movie. Somehow all the shots are missed. How convenient, a professional shooter suddenly having terrible aims!!!

- Bully is a loser and the bullied victim becomes a celebrity or super wealthy. Rarely does that happens in real life. Most of the times it's really the other way around since bullies (even though they got poor moral standards) already have social skills to manipulate people and situations to their benefits. If you lack social skills, you're not going to suddenly develop them in 1 year during as an adult. You can develop them but it takes time.

there's a couple reasons why i disagree with you. Some movies may be unrealistic, but still portray good themes or morals. For example, the tale of the princess kaguya (which is my pfp) is a very interesting and good movie, although it may not be entirely realistic. Essentially, movies can be unrealistic but still get good morals and ideas across. Actually, the unrealistic qualities of these movies can help bring these points out in a better way, through metaphors or foreshadowings.

and lastly, not all movies are unrealistic. Examples i can think of are only yesterday, grave of the fireflies, and yamadas, but there are a lot more. Also, do you want to watch an entirely realistic movie? Those are usually called documentaries lol

i also think the movies you are thinking about are the blockbuster hollywood movies. in my opinion, a lot of those movies are unrealistic, and they dont have good ideas or themes in them. There are way more movies besides these ones

I don't mind unrealistic movies but some of them are overly exaggerated to the point it's so obvious that's fake. It gives false hope to the naive folks out there that really think those unrealistic endings is the norm.

Yeah, i think the worst ones are the ones that show society or how people behave in an unrealistic way. Like I've never seen it, but i can imagine how law and order (the show) is so unrealistic to how it actually works irl, and how that basically doesn't give you any helpful knowledge lol. Same with those medical/doctor drama shows

No I just understand it is a movie and they have to make it interesting. Now if it is a factual documentary it should be as realistic as possible

yeah even if it's so fake. It's so ridiculous to the point it makes you fun. Yet there is someone very naive out there that really believes in those movies.

Maybe a few. But entertainment is supposed to be fun. Watching 100% realistic movies would be super boring.
