I want Kristen Lentz "Elementalist Superior" to be "Obviously able to beat Superman in a fight at full power". At full power, she has total control over the "four elements" plus Gravity, dimensional travel, and dimensional swords.

I want Rayne, the shadow girl, to be twice peak human in physical attributes, but she has shadow-merge and teleportation on top of that.

So which character type is more interesting? The one who is barely super-human, or the one who is absurdly super-human?

Since that is the case, I wonder why 9 of the 10 most money-making films of all time are about absurdly super-human characters (spider-man, star wars, etc?)
