Memories 💔
What are your favorite Elvis Presley songs?
Memories 💔
Elvis had a good library of songs that were good/great. My faves are
In The Ghetto
Kentucky Rain
Glory Hallelujah
And the song I want played at my funeral... My Way.
Sidenote.. grew up in Memphis. Mom worked with elvis' cousin. We (mom, myself and younger sis) were to going to get to meet him and have dinner with him and the cousin. Elvis died 2 weeks before that was to take place. I was 9 at the time. Now, little sis has been working for Graceland for 27 years and is tour operations management. through this career she has met many many famous people, prime ministers and musicians. Write ups in magazine articles and is one of the select few to ever be allowed in the vault and handle his clothing and personal belongings.
Came around full circle for her

Yes, My Way would be the perfect song to play at your send off.
As I have been reading the different songs that people have chosen, I have listened to the ones that people posted here for us to listen to and Elvis seems to sing each one better than the original artist.
My Way as we all know Frank Sinatra sang this song first but Elvis seems to be putting more emotions into the song and making it sound real.
Oh mighty elvis the king of rock'n'roll hehe
My most 3 favorite songs for Elvis are these:
1.
2.

https://www.youtube.com/embed/LCrlyhlGniAThere is a 4th song for Elvis that i love too cause the power is in it's words and the way he sang it shows how much feelings he had put in this song, it was like a message to someone but instead of just speaking it, he sang it...
This song, will be my song for this upcoming Sunday, stay tuned cause it's a surprise 😊
Nope not at all, it's going to be a song for elvis that i like a lot because of it's realistic words, it's like he's telling you: "let's take a little break from the love that is only found in romantic novels and from the love that we dream to have, let's talk about how love is in real life, where it's mixed between some happy moments and other sad ones, let's talk about the love where thought we love each other but one of the couples was pretending to love the other all the time so it was fake love and that's why it's weak and anything that happened made it fall on their heads, oh yes, the lonesome hurts but it's better than being on stage acting as if we were in love while it's all fake and acting, so in the end if this show is meant to be continued than i want real love and if not, than better let the curtains down and the show is over!
From what i said miss sage, i guess i gave you some clues to which Elvis song i'm talking about hehe

I just listened to each one of your songs here and I thoroughly enjoyed listening to each one of them! Good choices!!
The last one "You were always on my mind" I just added the version by Willie Nelson to my YouTube playlist a few days ago. However, I believe that Elvis's version is much better and sounds more sincere.
🎶 🎵 La La La music 🎵🎶😎
Wait till you hear my Sunday song for Elvis, it's lyrics are like a double edged sword!
Thanks for the mho 🙂

I couldn't help tearing up while listening to "Memories" because as I was listening to it - my late boyfriend came in my mind. I closed my eyes while listening to it and one special memory of us came to my mind.
One morning at 6:30 am we decided to go for a walk outside around the big block we live in.
We were holding hands while walking and I happened to know most of the names of all of the trees and bushes as we came upon them. So I was teaching him all the different names for each tree and bush. He enjoyed learning about them.
Then he went over to the eucalyptus tree and got a handful of the pieces of the tree and he brought them over to me and we both enjoyed smelling them together.
It was a special day and the morning sun ☀️ 🌞 was beautiful as it was rising during our walk.
God, I miss him so much❣️
RIP my Patrick John 🧸 🤟🏼 🍪🍪🍪💔
I always leave him cookies because he loved them so much.
Glad to bring good memories back to you. 😘
Always on my mind

You're the devil in disguise
Can't help falling in love
Let me be your teddy bear
I'm sure there are others, but these are the few that come to mind
"It's Now or Never" ... "Always on My Mind" ... His version of "Bridge Over Troubled Water" ... Just to name a few. Oh, "Kentucky Rain" is another favorite.
Can’t Help Falling In Love is one of my karaoke go-to’s. I don’t sing high very well, but that lower, crooner-style range is right in my wheelhouse. Also just a classic song👍
"In the Ghetto" was one on my mom's favorites. Also "A Little Less Conversation."
Can I say I’m one of the few that didn’t care much for him? I’m sure he was great but his music just wasn’t for me.
Can’t Help Falling In Love is my favorite but I love a lot of Elvis songs. For fun, I’m also an Elvis impersonator.
"I'm coming home" from the 2 disc "Elvis is back" collection. Scotty Moore was cookin'! The whole set is the best!
It used to be I can’t help falling in love but it remind me of my ex it was our song.
Now it’s Don’t Be Cruel.
1. Burning Love
2. Pray Together
3. Kentucky Rain
4. Suspicious Minds
5. Rubber Necking
Can't help falling in love
Green, green grass of home
Suspicious minds
Jailhouse rock
this one...
I liked “Glory Glory hallelujah” but I also liked “Fever”
Was never really a fan of the song stealer, but I do occasionally listen to Suspicious Minds.
OK, maybe song stealer is the wrong word to use as he didn't technically steal songs, but had other artist write most of his songs. Fun fact, Roy Orbison's first major hit, Only The Loney was originally written for Elvis, and he turned it down for not being good enough. Orbison then pitched it to the Everly Brothers who suggested he record it himself. Interesting to think how different Orbison's career would have been had Elvis not turned down only the lonely.
Posted original reply without knowing you replied. To respond to your first reply, the problem isn't so much that other artist wrote songs for him, and more that he was given credit for cowriting them. Another fun fact, Dolly Parton originally wrote "I Will Always Love You" with Elvis in mind, but ended up recording it herself because Elvis's manager wanted co-writer credits. Elvis being involved in getting co-writing credits on songs he didn't write is debatable, but not his manager, and from some of the sources I've seen/read, money was the motivation for having Elvis credited as co-writer as it entitled him to some of the Royalities.
Can't Help Falling in Love.
Heartbreak Hotel. Close to Delta Blues.
Stereo Remix Listen to it.

It is known Elvis had come Cherokee ancestry (as do I) and here is a Choctaw native singing an excellent rendition of it. Tristan Harper.
