Who remembers those Japanese movies and series about giant monsters like Godzilla and Gamera? What's your opinion about those movies?

friendly reminder godzilla vs kong franchise is NOT japanese made😭🙏
i personally have watched the original 1954 godzilla movie and honestly i liked it. I personally like the godzilla movies that actually have a side plot and its not just all about a massive lizard destroying a city.
i also watched the first godzilla vs kong and absolutely hated it. Incredibly stupid and weird. Only redeeming factors were the kinda cool fight scenes.
lastly i watched godzilla minus one, which i liked a lot personally🤷ββοΈ
A man in a rubber Godzilla suit, walking through a model of Tokyo is one if my favorite scenes... in every classic Godzilla movie.
The latest Godzilla films just don't have that enjoyable campyness.
They were ho-key, but they are still way popular. I mean how many different versions of King Kong, Godzilla, and King Kong vs. Godzilla have they had out?
Far too many lol. If you go to max (hbo max) you should be able to find like 10-20 or so godzilla movies there, they basically pumped out a ton of them in 50s-90s

This ain't even counting king kong movies but i keep that separate bc they are not the same thing
@lil_will_12 Not to mention movies like the Son of Godzilla or Son of Kong. But the Planet of the Apes movies made a monkey out of Kong. After that he retired. π€£ππππ
I loved the Godzilla movie cause I watched it with a group of people and it was fun to discuss and laugh at.
Japanese kaiju films like Godzilla and Gamera hold a special place in cinematic history. They offer thrilling spectacles with their massive monster battles and have influenced countless filmmakers. Godzilla, first appearing in 1954, symbolizes nuclear fears post-WWII, bringing a layer of depth to the action. Gamera is known for being more family-friendly. These films are both entertaining and culturally significant, showcasing innovative special effects and imaginative storytelling. They're iconic in the world of sci-fi and monster movies. 🦖🎬
