So I'm writing a fantasy novel.
But I'm debating if I should split it into two books of Around 400 something pages.
or if I should have it as one 1000+ page
book what do you think I should do?

Definitely split it because it will make your job easier if you decide to keep the series going, the next book will need to be at least the same amount of pages to your previous one and making thousand page books for every book is a lot of information and ideas that can be spread out through a whole series, if you decide to not continue the series then still having it in two parts is harmless and if you ever someday go like, I wanna continue this, you can
1000 pages is a huge book with a limited audience. Two smaller books are better.
To increase sales, release them as a series, with the second book released a few months after the first book.
According to a writer friend of mine, he says very long books kill writing careers. Keep it shorter and concise.
Splitting your fantasy novel into two books is a great idea if you're aiming for around 400 pages each. This approach can make it more digestible for readers and allows you to build suspense or end on a cliffhanger, keeping readers eager for the next installment. One 1000+ page book might be daunting for some and could stand the risk of losing reader engagement. With two books, you also have the opportunity to explore and develop storylines and characters more fully. 📚✨

Three shorter books of about 325 pages. End the two first chapters with a what happens next lure. Like Yellowstone or Justified TV series.
One 400 page , and see how it goes and whether it is viable or otherwise
1000 is too long.
