My dad just bought a Beatles CD for me online, and I've never seen the Red Album in this kind of packaging before. I couldn't find a photo of the Red Album that looks like this online either. The seller said it only comes with one CD, but the Red Album is supposed to have two CDs, right? Is this fake? Did my dad get scammed?

I would assume some pirated businesses wanted to sell Beatle CD's without paying royalties to the Beatles so created a fake CD cover by compiling images online and adding colour to them. I've seen foreign businesses sell pirated DVD's and I knew it was not the original company because the DVD's contained English subtitles that had humongous grammar and spelling errors in it. No legitimate business would ever allow their subtitles to be so riddled with errors, it was done by a third party scammer who wanted to make money by stealing royalties from the original creators.

After an album is released it is put on the secondary market where all sorts of merchants repackage and sell it.

It is probably a re-issue by an independent record label. The tracks will be genuine.
