boyfriend requested space because his sister had a health issue, yet he still spoke to me in between everything. He asked if we can talk on the phone, but he didn't call. He texted me saying she was getting better and that he would plan a date for us in the upcoming days. After this, he has been silent. Should I just check in with him to make sure he's okay? I'm kinda of scared Im getting played.

Girl, that is sketchy behavior from your guy. I'd be wary too in your position. Here's what I think is going on:

-It's possible his sister really was sick, but using that as an excuse to pull away from you and have space seems sus.

-If he wanted to talk on the phone like he said, he woulda called! Guys don't just flake on that.

-Saying he'd plan a date and then ghosting is messed up. He's obviously not making you a priority.

My advice would be to text him just saying something simple like "Hey, just wanted to check in and see how your sis is doing." Pay attention to how long it takes him to reply and what he says.

If he's still vague or doesn't follow through on a solid plan this time, I'd cut my losses honestly sis. You don't deserve to be anyone's backup option! He's showing you who he is - best to believe it and move on before you waste more time. You'll find someone who wants you for real, I know it!
