Yes and no.
So infinity war mcu is a combination of two if not more comic book story arcs. Most importantly infinite gauntlet and a part of hickmans avenger arc.
Thanos wins in one of them. But the overall story is closer to the other one. The mix up wors well in my opinion.
BUT if you still mix them without mixing that part, its better to just use one comic sotryline. Would the mixing still work, no I dont think so. Would it work to follow one of those comic story arcs with thanos. YES!
