I sent Neil Young a message on his website. He didn't give a long response, but it was amusing that he responded at all.

Most often, in person. I've met quite a few.
In other forms, I asked a question of King Crimson and Robert Fripp actually sent me a personal response in the mail!
I sent Bill Broford an e-mail asking about a drumming technique and he responded, as did one of his secretaries, or something.
I wrote a quick letter to Sharon Stone telling her that my cousin, who's been doing our family genealogy for decades, found out that she's my 5th cousin. Her response was an autographed black & white picture of her. Lol.
I went to see The Bevis Frond one night and after the concert, I helped them pack up a little bit and got their e-mail addy so, I wrote them (mostly their bassist, Adrian Shaw, who used to be in Hawkwind) several e-mails over the next few months and got responses to all of them. I got an idea to do a benefit album and asked them if they'd contribute a brand new song to the project and they sent me a CD with two songs I could use!
At least twice, I got a response from Dr. Demento. The last time was a few years ago, I was working in a print shop and we were making calendars with lots of pictures of old fashioned trains on them. I knew he was big into old trains so, I grabbed a copy and mailed it to him. He wrote back thanking me quite a lot for the calendar.
There might be a couple others but I don't recall them off the top of my head. Like I said, in most cases, they were face to face.
Dr. Demento is a good one for sure.
Who knew Robert Fripp was gonna write to me?
Only from the fake ones on there, the real ones don’t respond but you have scammers on there posing as them for some at times, maybe they have a mental problem or they want to make you think they are broke and send money, that’s when you know they are fake for sure
I saw a post where David Hayter had watched anime, and I said "Anime fans rejoice!" He said, "yeah, it was pretty good."
Yes. Rob Zombie told me what his favorite scary movie is.
Yes, I once received a response from Taika Waititi on Instagram. His witty sense of humor shone through in just a few words, and it truly made my day. It's always exciting when artists we admire take a moment to connect with their fans. 🎨🎬
Nice, Lily! I enjoyed Jojo Rabbit by that filmmaker.

Dick Summer was a disk jockey at a local radio station. This was a long time ago when the DJs were big celebrities. I was a big fan and I wrote him a letter and he wrote a very thoughtful response and sent be a picture of the current air staff. Fast forward about 20 years and I had the opportunity to talk to him in person and told him how much that letter meant to me. He did not really remember it but he was really a nice guy. I was sorry to her of his passing last year.
Not exactly, but my parents urged me to write a fan letter , so i started writing to james bond but realized it was just to make me write ! A burden!
so i finished the sentence and wrote don't tell my parents i hate them". Then i folded it and said "don't read it it is personal" and they lied they wouldn't. Later punished me for saying i hated them so i knew they lied and read it.
@I_Can_Help I worked at LAX - Los Angeles International for three years. I met and talked with many- then- actors and actresses and entertainers. Most were very nice and very receptive to having someone recognize and acknowledge them
Yes I have I have talked to a few of my fave Japanese singers and 3 followed me back.
Sure. I haven't done it very often but always had one. Direct had replies and simple tags received likes. Congrats on your reply.
I wrote a short letter a few years ago to Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull and he sent me a personalized, autographed photo.
The 1st people that come to mind are Mike Portnoy and Jordan Rudess from the Prog Metal band Dream Theater
OK she was a porn actress. That doesn't make her less of a celeb though.
She said she would try to work in my suggestion.
I've gotten a snuggle from my favourite female artist. Not exactly a celebrity.
Yes, many of them either online or backstage at live shows.
He used my first name in his very next movie. Mel in Conspiracy Theory. The only letter I've ever written to any celebrity.
Yes! Lots of them!
yes, and I’ve talked to them in person
My favourite? No!
