I mean I like Eye of the Tiger, but how the heck is that a romance film? If you like boxing, Million Dollar Baby is far better, and the romance is completely platonic.

Negative. There’s actually only about twenty minutes of footage of training AND fighting in “Rocky”. Every other minute of the movie is devoted to the love story from a man’s perspective. Which is often where people like you too often suggest that it’s not romantic. Men and women have a slightly differing vision of romance, but it is absolutely a love story.
The very last meaningful line is “Yo, Adrian! I did it!”
Even a cursory examination of that line is further evidence of the love story. The first thing he thinks about upon winning is his love, Adrian. Strongly suggesting that he risked literally everything to impress her.
