Unless I hear from multiple people I trust that it's actually good, I don't plan on seeing it.

For starters, I personally don't like Superman. He's an overpowered and boring character with a single, otherworldly weakness that just gets magically exploited whenever the plot demands it, which is *almost as bad as Captain Marvel. The inclusion of Krypto the dog is a big red flag to me that they also intend on relying on the small cute animal much like how The Mandalorian relies on a baby to keep (mostly women) interested.

Second, the marketing campaign for it is not winning me over. The trailers are very "meh," and the rest of it is really about the director talking about himself. Speaking of...

James Gunn is a good director, but not for this type of movie. Superman isn't even close to Guardians of the Galaxy or Suicide Squad, and he's not enough of an unknown to assume he would be able to shift gears for the first time ever.

Not in a theater, I might give it a watch somewhere if they don't turn him into a silly joke like most of the others. It's honestly not my thing as much as hard core sci fi. Super heroes are just clones of Beowulf or Gilgamesh, it's a cool story, they're brave and tough and all but not a lot of thinking goes on. I like scientific puzzles, speculative fiction. I like when the light bulb comes on and they figure it out.

Still on the fence. I rarely go opening weekend for anything, but i will bide my time until i can gather some trustworthy reviews. At first glance, i like the looks of much of it. However, the superdog is a huge turnoff. I have the sneaking suspicion Gunn is gonna Jar Jar all over that flick.
