Did anyone see the new Superman movie?

It opens in theaters today. I have read that it is pretty good. I hope that James Gunn can bring some humanity back to the Man of Steel. Henry Cavill seemed to have a hard edge to him that made it believable that he could execute humans with his heat vision.

No, and i’m not sure i will.
One of the reviewers i trust said, in so many words, that it’s ‘meh’. It’s not bad, but it’s not good either.
It lacks story direction and it’s convoluted with too many characters. Given Gunn’s record, the stakes are likely watered down with humor as well.
If this was meant to be the Hail Mary to resuscitate the DCEU, it was a fantastically half-assed and a likely failure in that regard.


I gave up on the MCU years ago. Warner Brothers recruiting the same hacks who burned that down didn’t exactly instill confidence in me. One bad review from a trustworthy source is enough to turn me off completely.

I think there is a little of it. He no longer stands for Truth , Justice and the American Way.

I don't want to see it then. I haven't watched any newer super hero movies in years, ever since Disney got some of the rights to them and ruined many established franchises.

I did! It was pretty good, but nothing compared to Christopher Reeves. However, there were apparently a lot of details in there for the comic fans. David Corenswet made a great Superman.
