On the early '90's sitcom, Wings, there was a recurring character named Sandy Cooper, played by Valerie Mahaffey. She was really good at playing crazy.

Gina Bellman played Jane on the early 2000's British comedy, Coupling. She pretended to be bisexual just to make herself more interesting.

Natalie Wood played the title character in the 1966 film, Penelope. She was wonderfully kookie.
