I'm Brazilian, this is a song that I like for its history, what you think?

This is a pretty sad song to be honest, it happened in 1885 in a city called Botucatu. Ana Rosa has married Chicuta when she was 15 years old, he was extremely possessive about her and frequently beat her. At 20, tired of how she was treated decided to flee, one of her aunts worked as a dressmaker on a nightclub in Botucatu. Her plan was to stay there until a caravan of muleteers can take her to the south where Chicuta won't be able to find her.

Chicuta had gone to Botucatu looking for Ana Rosa as soon as he noticed she had fled. Her aunt and the owner of the night club, Fortunata, prevented Chicuta from taking her. He then found two henchmen, Costinha e Miningirdo.

They plan was that Costinha would go to the nightclub and convince Ana Rosa that he knew a caravan that could take her to Paraná. The plan worked and in June 21, 1885 Ana Rosa got with Costinha to a river called Lava pés, there her husband Chicuta and Miningirdo was waiting. She was dismembered alive.

A Slave saw everything and called the police, only Miningirdo was arrested, however, all three died soon after. Miningirdo died in prison from smallpox, Costinha was crushed by a tree he cut down and Chicuta had a ox cart run over his neck.

Botucatu's population had shown up to her wake and soon she receive fame for fulfilling a lot of prayers. Her grave still visited until modern days and a small church was built in her name.
