Does he have a strong French accent when he sings?

As a french, I think his struggle with accent is very noticeable. But I sympathize, because, as a french, I know what it takes to produce a British or US English accent. It requires efforts & force we're not used to, it requires forcing vowels all the time, by elongating them, forcing consonants as well. It requires remembering that a W and a R sound are not the same. It's a lot of cognitive tension and work to imitate the anglophone ways.
Merci à tous et à toutes pour votre indulgence !
It's noticeable, maybe even a little strong, but not overwhelming..
I can believe that based on what I saw of him in the video.. Maybe he at one point wanted to branch outside of France one day.. LOL..
He was a big star at the time, known all over Europe, even in China and Japan, and there were huge crowds in those countries to go and see him. He then went to Hollywood, but it was films with very mediocre scripts. And he didn't want to bend to Hollywood's demands. So he left haha
Damn, you were right.. That is some good English.. His accent is a little stronger here, but it's not crazy..
So he did venture out.. No wonder, and he didn't wanna be a big star all over the world and ruin his reputation being in mediocre movies in Hollywood I see.. LOL.. Makes sense..
Damn, I know English can't be that challenging can it? LOL.. Either that or y'all just don't care to be super fluent..
And yeah I know, I've seen people praise his younger looks on reddit.. 😂😂.. But, I don't know Hollywood could've really made or broke him.. Especially at that time.. It was the biggest Entertainment industry in the world.. But I understand he was already big enough, and didn't care for it..
And aw yeah... I heard that French people can seem arrogant.. LOL..
The French are one of the worst countries in the world when it comes to English and foreign languages in general. That's because we feel that only our language deserves attention 😂
Oh yes, he was incredibly beautiful. Many women in the world were literally in love with him lol
Yes Hollywood was already the biggest film industry, but after trying, he didn't really care. As I said he was known all over Europe, even in Russia, Japan and China, huge crowds were waiting for him when he went there. And he was even received by politicians in South America.
But you see, he was a man who had an eventful life lol. During his military service he was in prison because he stole the commander's car 😂 then in his life he was friends with members of the mafia. And he was a real womaniser. He was suspected of complicity in the murder of his bodyguard, but cleared for lack of evidence. The case remains unsolved to this day.
I mean French is beautiful, but... Damn the ego.. 😂😂..
Yeah, but also it was because he was a big star, nothing out of the usually for a big actor especially in those tine, when actors were more of a draw to movies..
And yeah it seems like he just let his ego go crazy and didn't like the crumbs he was getting in Hollywood.. That's actor 101 right there.. Especially if he already had a good career elsewhere..
Yeah, actors/musicians/entertainers from all over the world were different breeds in those times... Not as pampered as they are now.. They actually went out and made a little bit of history.. But yeah sheesh.. Seems like you're a big fan Julie.
Don't forget that in the past other countries spoke our language, and that only countries that were enamoured of French culture were considered civilised. Did you say arrogant? 😂
For the rest, yes, I like Alain Delon a lot, but contrary to what you say, I'm not sure that many actors stole their military commander's car in the middle of the war, because he was sent to Indochina. And that there are plenty of actors who have been accused of complicity in murder lol
Ah Hollywood told them they were mediocre, they didn't like it much
Yeah, I guess that since of royalty hasn't left you French.. LOL.. But, yeah in a way, I was agreeing with you that it sounds like the French are super arrogant.. 😂..
I can tell, with the volume of which you talk about him.. But, oh no I was just saying that actors back around those times had eventful lives.. Alain sounded like a rebel.. But if you look into a lot of American 40s-70s era entertainers they also had some crazy lives..
He still could've auditioned for the good roles.. Lmao.. He just gave up..
Yes, once again, he didn't really need Hollywood. But he still liked the USA.
Yes, some actors have had quite an adventure lol
Yes Alain Delon was a rebel mdr. You had to dare to do what he did during the war, when you were risking your life. But I don't have unlimited admiration. With women he behaved disgracefully and also with one of his sons, whom he refused to recognise.
You're right he didn't, if he is this famous being a French actor, he definitely didn't need Hollywood.. At least from your accounts of him..
Yeah, I guess you can describe what they did as "adventures".. Lmao
..
And yeah sure did, but I guess it depends on why he did it because you could also call that a coward move to try and get kicked out of the military.. 😂😂.. And, yeah well when you're famous and probably had women throwing themselves at him, I guess it's bound not to turn out good for whomever he is with..
He voluntarily enlisted for the war in Indochina and could have stayed in France. And he knew that he risked being put in prison but certainly not succeeding in escaping. Even less by stealing the jeep in front of the commander and voluntarily going into the water.
As for the rest, yes, I suppose all the actors are more or less familiar with this phenomenon of attracting women haha. And when you were known for your beauty, it must have been even easier.
True, but why did he take his commanders car though? That doesn't seem like some "I wanna seem crazy, so they can kick me out" type of behavior.. 😂😂.. But I commend the guys back then.. They were built different.. Plus, as a man it's basically a social death sentence not to enlist in those types..
Of course, the money and more importantly the status is what attracts them.. It's a bonus if they are good looking also..
At the time he had the choice between doing his military service in France or going to the front in Indochina, he voluntarily chose the war. As I said, he knew that taking his commanding officer's car would send him to prison, but in no way absolved him of his military service. Besides, when he got out of prison he had to do his military service right to the end.
Do you know why he took his commanders car? But yes it is a ballsy move to take your commanders car in the Middle of a war in the water.. That's some crazy action right there..
Aw okay so he was basically just being an actor or showman then.. Lmao.. Sorta kinda.. Or a Diva..
What you're saying is incomprehensible to me 😂. A diva has nothing to do with that, a diva is someone who throws tantrums when she doesn't get what she wants, who demands to have such and such a thing etc. I don't see the connection here.
And when he did that he wasn't an actor, he was an unknown. I challenge you to do the same thing lol.
It was in his temperament, because from a very young age he'd been hanging around with mafiosi and so on.
I don't know, I'm going off of what you are telling me, and interpreting it.. Lmao..
Hey you said that he wanted to show off.. 😂.. I guess I wrongly interpreted it as him trying to be a diva I suppose..
Hey, it was a lazy interpretation anyways, so fair enough.. LOL.. It was still an idiotic move nonetheless.. I would understand if his reasons were more... Noble, but from what you tell me, they weren't..
Alain Delon, while primarily known as an actor, does occasionally sing. When he does, his French accent is noticeable, adding a certain charm to his performances. It complements the romantic and suave image he cultivated throughout his cinema career. His accent gives an authentic touch to his songs, reflecting his roots and cultural background. 🎶

I think it's a moderately strong accent, but not too strong.
