GALLAGHER AND LYLE WERE A SCOTTISH MUSICAL DUO, NOT BROTHERS. THEY WERE SINGER SONG WRITERS, AND ARE KNOWN FOR THEIR POP, SOFT ROCK, AND FOLK ROCK MUSIC. THEY FIRST GAINED RECOGNITION WRITING FOR THE BEATLES' APPLE RECORDS, THEN FORMED THE DUO IN 1972.

They wrote songs for many top artists including Tina Turner, Michael Jackson, and also were founder members of McGuiness Flint and wrote the hit "When I'm Dead and Gone."
