I like original content. This "Remake" culture usually destroys the story as it was.

I swear there is a lack of creativity in writers nowadays. They remade pretty much every damn movie I grew up with... except in that half of my life it was new... this half has been remakes. And I wouldn't have beef with that if it wasn't absolute shit the 2nd time around. Race and gender swapping, and changing the storyline to be more Hillary Clinton=ish... ffs's it's why I quit watching that shit and only consume youtube videos at this point.

I'd hope so but honestly I think they are making a mistake. The value of the Harry Potter IP is that the setting is gold and it is the original, highest profile work in that setting.

In other words it is Hogwarts, not Harry, that sells. They could have written a new chapter in the story with fresh characters and more. I know, I know, they sort of did that but they sis it without the most important element of the school. School settings sell.

No. Harry Potter was a phenomenon of success. This is just a lame attempt to cash in on it and squeeze the last bit of juice out of it. Remakes, reboots, reimaginings, retellings, live actions they are usually awful.

No doubt when it fails they will blame racism or sexism.
