Ah yes, more than I would like to admit...

Though to be fair I WAS a kid. Before age 11 or so I used to unironically think that animated characters were real and that I could meet up with them one day.

Once I learned that animated characters weren't real at around age 11 I stopped having crushes on them as to me it was pointless to crush on something that didn't exist. From that point forward at most I'd fantasize "how would it be if this character was real" but not a legit crush.

But as a kid I had about 5 different major animated character crushes.

1st: Magali from Turma Da Monica, when I was about 4 or 5 years old.

2nd: Zoe from Dinosaur King, when I was about 6 or 7 years old.

3rd: Wendy from South Park, when I was about 8 years old.

4th: Blossom from The PowerPuff Girls, when I was about 9 years old.

5th: Misty from Pokemon, when I was about 10 years old.

I was VERY serious about these crushes as a kid, so I normally was only "loyal" to one character at a time and didn't wanna "cheat" on them.

Age 11 forwards I never had the same thing. The max I had was "what if this character was real" or "what the character represents" rather than an actual crush. Some examples including Korra from Legend of Korra and/or Asuna from Sword Art Online. But I never had a real crush on Korra or Asuna. And I don't have a "waifu" or "best girl" or whatever. That's pretty fucking weird to me.

There's definitely been adult women anime characters that have been in popular cartoons who had very interestingly drawn physical good looks - with or without cleavage - remember, some anime cartoons are designed only for an adult audience, don't blame Japanese animators for their mainstream shoes being watched after hours when they're tailored for an adult audience aka remember how television channels for cartoons and other shows had adults only hours aka anything around midnight or just before so yeah - 😜 I think I rambled much here

Heero Yuy from Gundam Wing. I'd watch it with my dad when I was a kid and I had a huge crush on him. It was his attitude! The quiet, lethal bad boy with a soft side! Now I have to rewarch the series again

Haha, yes — I think most anime fans have had a crush on an animated character at some point. For me, it’s usually about their personality and the way they’re written, not just looks.
