Who remembers THE MUPPET SHOW?

The Muppet Show was a 30-minute TV show that aired in the UK and US from 1976 to 1981. It's also been aired, off and on, since then, on various cable networks and streaming services.

It was watched by both adults and children, consisting of their favorite Muppets (Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Animal and others) singing, dancing and having fun.

It was long before my time, but I saw two episodes of it on some cable channel when I was a kid. I remember the guest stars (Joel Grey for one, Rudolph Nureyev for the other) more than I remember the muppets themselves.

I recognise many of the characters from their movies and stuff but I've never seen a proper episode.

Did the phase, "You muppet" come from the show or did the show come from the phrase?

@purplepoppy I know you're too young for the show's original airing, but I'm surprised you never saw it, considering it was produced in the UK, at Elstree studios in Borehamwood England and broadcast on ITV.

Weird it's never been repeated on British TV. They even stopped showing sesame street because it was lowering education standards , I wonder if something similar happened with the muppets
