Yes. Hollywood started dying around the 2010s and got even worse during and after COVID, and so here we are.

If you mean favorite international movie that's not American Hollywood, that would be Hero hands down.

I love those Korean thriller movies, like Train to Busan or I Saw the Devil. For something light, Studio Ghibli movies like Spirited Away. For some heavy feels, my favorite—Hotarubi No Mori E.

Depends on how you define the word dying

In general Hollywood still has a lot of power but it's on the wane, the rise of Asia and tax incentives outside of the USA has made a real impact. We see Asia being a real powerhouse with Manga/Anime from Japan, TV/Films from Korea and China starting to see a real rise in the domestic market for China made films/media.

You also see a massive cut in work in America, Netflix is pushing more money over to Asia for new productions instead of America. The audience want Asian media & it costs less to make, it's win win for the money men. The big problem is market oversaturation, easy product availability and technological disruptions.

I think another big thing is the audience is shrinking. Many young people don’t have the attention span for a 2 hour movie. New media replaced long-form storytelling with quick dopamine hits and the movie business is feeling the impact.

Still at the same time Hollywood has a lot of power/money, it's going to be a long time before it's lost relevance. If the film industry wants to get back on track it needs to stop selling its product to streamers who pay the same for a smash hit or a bomb, overproducing content and boycott AI in every aspect of the craft.

My fave non-Hollywood movies are Akuro Kurosawa's Dreams, as well the Italian movies Life is beautiful and Pinocchio

Not sure if it is dead as I do not frequent newer films, but I do find that I gravitate more towards TV series made in The UK, Australia, and Canada.

I live in the Hollywood/Beverly Hills/Malibu area, and people don't make films in Hollywood anymore because the labor and writing costs are just too damn high.
