What was the worst movie you ever saw, or at least recently?

For me I don't even remember the title of the movie and I don't want to remember but it was this homemade horror movie which practically only had like one actor the whole film and took place just inside the house and a few outdoor settings.

The main character moves to a new house and strange things start happening blah blah blah so cliche. She starts to hear weird sounds around the house so she calls a handyman. She thinks the sound is a mouse in the walls or something but the handyman tells her nothing's there. He keeps coming back periodically.

Then for this next part she goes to a bunch of different places and a bunch of completely different people start to say the exact same thing to her word for word. It was a pretty generic saying but the weird part was it was exactly word for word. I don't remember what it was but let's say it was something like: "These cloudy rainy days sure aren't fun but at least they help the plants grow."

The part of a bunch of different people saying the exact same thing SEEMED like it was going somewhere. Like what is this weird phenomenon? What's going on?

Then there was this one random weird guy at the beach who insisted on giving her a balloon even after she refused saying "oh come on you need a balloon you don't look happy enough."

Then late at night someone walks into her home. It's dark and the person is wearing a black hood. She takes the gun and shoots the person and turns on the light. Turns out the person was her best friend holding balloons for her surprise birthday party. AND THEN THE FILM ENDS RIGHT THERE. It doesn't show what happened after she shot her friend or even her reaction it just ended RIGHT THERE.

The movie was honestly a giant slap in the face to anyone who stuck around till the end. And it was a pretty long movie too. Like 2 hours. 2 hours of going nowhere.

The only positive thing was the main character was kind of hot.

I'll probably get hate for this. I watched this pretty bad movie that someone insisted me to watch last month. It's called Captain Fantastic. The way he was talking about it, made it sound like a masterpiece. It turned out to be such so weird. Had some disgusting scenes, cringe ones and also disturbing.

Also, the worse movie I ever saw was this French movie called ' Jeux d'enfants' (someone recommended and it was the first French movie I ever saw). It frustrated the heck out of me throughout the movie and the ending left me feeling miserable for a while.

I kind of liked Captain Fantastic. Yeah it was weird, but I think that was by design. Ben was a caring father albeit with eccentric views. His wife is well, but how much of that was her mental health is anyone's guess. Or at least that's the feeling I got. Point is Ben went against the grain of society in so many ways. And when his wife was alive I think he had like minded voice to support him on what he was doing was ultimately right for his family. But as the story progresses he sees what the social isolation by the way he's raising is doing to his kids. And ultimately when one of his kids almost gets really hurt he relents and decides a more societally acceptable upbringing is what's best for his kids. I'm not a parent but I'm sure every parent has that moment. Kids don't come with instructions. But you know you love your kids more than anything. And even though you love th e m more than anything occasionally you have to entertain the thought that you don't always have the best plan for them. The best intentions yeah, but not the best plan.
I kinda felt that Ben's relationship with his wife was "us against the world". And when they had kids it became "we against the world". And when his wife got sick then he fought the good fight. But he unknowingly grew as a parent. And at the end he realized society and the way they do things weren't the enemy as much as his kids and their happiness and future happiness is what truly mattered.
At least that's what I got out of it.

@ChiTown33 Wow, that's such a thoughtful take. I guess I just found it weird when I first saw it because of certain scenes, but your explanation gives it a different angle. I think I didn’t view it through that emotional lens.. maybe that’s why it didn’t hit me the same way. Maybe I'd have appreciated that movie if I was a mum.

I was 13 when the first "Sharknado" movie came out. It was horrible. I have since seen all 6 films in the franchise and they somehow got worse with each one but it was like the train wreck analogy , I just couldn't look away. I am so ashamed. 😳

Recently? I checked out a DVD from the library called Guest House, starring Pauly Shore and Aimee Teagarden. It was labelled a comedy but only had one laugh in it. On the upside, Aimee was super cute.

Apart from classics like Plan 9 from Outer Space, one of the most recent one was Transformers. Two hours of my life wasted with this dumb, loud, boring crap. 😵

The worst movie I've seen recently (and there have been a few contenders) was a low-budget horror film that tried too hard to be edgy. The plot was painfully predictable, with clichés like characters making absurd decisions and super cheesy dialogue. Despite its attempt at a twist ending, the resolution was laughable. A character suddenly vanishing into thin air without explanation was the final straw. Even with the potential for so-bad-it's-good moments, it felt like an eternity until the credits rolled. 😅

I think that the movie Buffalo Bill And The Indians, was the only movie where I actually walked out of the theater. This happened around 1976/1977 at an overseas military base
