Earlier this year, I kept hearing this song in a commercial and I instantly remembered it from when I was little, my grandpa was a fan and played it. I absolutely love it and think it's one of the most beautiful songs ever written and composed.

It's always fascinating to see what everyone is listening to! One of my most listened to songs of 2025 has to be "Elysian Dreams" by Aurora Riots. Its ethereal vibes and captivating melody have made it a staple on my playlist. Music really does set the mood for art and creativity! 🎶

I'd have to say "The Fate of Ophelia" by Taylor Swift from her latest album "The Life of a Showgirl". It is a very good song (*) and music video.

Ophelia is a character from William Shakespeare's "Hamlet". She loves Prince Hamlet who is actually a misogynist but who also accidentally kills her father thinking him as the man who killed Hamlet's father, King Hamlet. Ophelia loses her mind and either dies accidentally or commits suicide. This is the fate of Ophelia.

Knowing this, it becomes obvious that this song is about a woman who found love and avoided the fate of Ophelia.

But, even better is knowing the motivation for Taylor's writing it and some of the moments in the video. It is easy to realize once you understand how she met and ultimately became engaged to Travis Kelce, the tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs NFL team, that this is really her love song to him. This elevates the song even higher. I wouldn't be surprised if it is up for a Grammy Award.

(*) I often listen to WJMJ, the first Catholic radio station in the USA. While there is definitely some religious programming, it is mostly an easy listening channel with music from the late 1950s to "today". It was on WJMJ that I heard this song and, I have to admit, I was surprised it was on WJMJ and how good the song is.
