What is a television show, or movie, that left you in tears recently?

For me, Its Violet Evergarden, Season 1 Episode 10, Called Loved Ones Will Always Watch Over you.. It centers around the main character helping a dying mother write 50 letters for her daughter, to be delivered to her daughter every year on her birthday. She died maybe a week after the letters were written, and the end of the episode goes through nearly every birthday reading a letter. Let me tell you, it had my wife and i both in tears.

The most recently that that happened for me was just over two years ago. My wife was watching Monk. It was an episode where Monk somehow became a temporary legal guardian of a small boy and all the hilarity that ensued from that. The kid really liked Monk and Monk was just starting to warm up to him. Monk was reading a story to the boy (or making one up) and began to realize that he couldn't take care of him anymore because, well, Monk has a hard time taking care of himself. So... yeah.

It hit me was that that was around the time my wife came home from the hospital after having been there for nearly two months straight. I'd been taking care of our son more or less by myself, he'd been anxious and depressed... I just had a lot going on, y'know?

I almost hate to admit it, but One Piece.

Someone convinced me to watch it, I did, it's just finished a story arc about loss, purpose, loneliness and I found it very relatable.

Basically the character couldn't overcome the problem until they adopted a clear sense of purpose.

There was a random holiday film online that made me tear up, but I can't remember the name. A guy runs off for his career and comes home to find his jilted-at-the-altar bride has a daughter (his) and that the whole town felt abandoned by him (no pressure). He of course saves the day and marries the gal and claims his daughter and honors the town. There's no explanation of WHY he'd run off to begin with, but the reconciliation made me tear up a little.

Its been a long time.. Like the first and last time i saw it was in 98 when it came out. i seem to remember some tears but i was a kid at the time lol.
