My wife is gone at work on most days.
So when I'm alone on rainy days, I like to do exactly what the lady in the painting is doing - sit in my comfy chair looking out the big front window with a cat in my lap and a cup of coffee next to me. I also have my laptop or a book to read.

It depends on the kind of day it is. If it's a nice summer ray, I might sit on the front porch and either watch the rain or read something. If it's cold, like today, I'd stay inside and get things done.
