Are movies in decline?

Movies these days get bad reviews. Everything else does ok in reviews. Is cinema a dying industry?

Movies are unoriginal unimaginative remakes, reboots, re-imagining, sequels and prequels. They take a classic movie that did well in the 70s,80s, 90s,00s and remake it with a reinterpted woke script. A good example is Persuasion, a classic Jane Austen book. They basically threw away what Jane Austen wrote regarding the main character and made their own movie.

Movies theatres are going to die with very few left thats just a fact. Even when videos were around movies wouldn't make it to vhs for 4 years, dvds it was 1-2 years, now 3 months after a movie comes out in the cinema its on a streaming service. The netflix n chill costs a month a fraction of the cost of going to the cinema once and in the privacy of your own home, snacks cost less and flatscreen vs are very cheap. I bought a 50 inch flastscreen 10 years ago for $700 but now I couldn't give it away, seen an 85 inch going for $700 recently.

Cinema might be, but movies won't. Nowadays you can stream movies fairly soon after they come out. Sure, you need to pay for it, but it's cheaper than buying tickets and concessions. Plus, you can pause the movie and go to the bathroom.

Movie theaters are not as busy as they used to be, and there are fewer of them. This is due, not to poor movies, but the ability for people to watch what they want to watch in their own homes. Cinema is not dead, it's just evolving, like most things do.

Yep. too , many Special effects , same themes , to many remakes. I think the AI stuff might be like Babe Ruth was to Baseball or Caitlin Clark was to Basketball.

It is not movies themselves that are in decline. It is the content of them. If any time someone wants to make a good movie, it will sell out. Think in terms of Top Gun Maverick. In the post war 1950s. Top Gun Maverick would have been a pretty good movie. But more recently, it was a box office smash.

nowadays I only see 1-2 movies are year that stimulate me. unlike the 80s, 90s, and even 2000s when almost all the movies had an impact.

the fact that Hollywood barely makes anything new just speaks for itself. almost everything is either a remake, reboot or continuation of the 80s, 90s, and 2000s

Hollywood is dying. It's cheaper and easier for people to consume their entertainment at home, why go to the cinema when you can watch the same movie at home shortly after?

Regarding the reviews, they do reflect a lack of creativity and even basic competence in an industry the prioritizes the bottom line over content.

No, but theaters may be as we have 65" screens in our living room. Why would I want to travel to a theater, be subject to obnoxious ads before the feature, and then suffer from the bad behavior of others in the audience?

Not all of them, but most of them, yes. There are good new movies, but most of them are a part of some agenda's propaganda, and their main purpose is brainwashing us and making tons of money while doing so.

Many blame Netflix for the movie industry dying here in the US, but in reality, it is the $23 popcorns, $10 KitKats, and $12 sodas that are killing it, and let's not forget, the $20 tickets!!!
