597 opinions shared on Entertainment & Arts topic. I hope most of all, to still be on Trikafta. This will depend on keeping alcohol away, and bringing good exercise back in. My pulmonary function test last week was the best ever, at 119, 118, and 121, a record.
For reference, 100 means normal lung function for an adult male of my age with no health conditions. I'm a Cystic Fibrosis patient, and that test indicates my lungs actually surpass normal acceptable standards.
It's a crazy thought that if you took 100 disease free young healthy people to do that same spirometry test and called out the top 20 scores, I might actually make the cut.
My liver enzymes went up a few points, that's expexted, Trikafta does irritate the liver a little. Which may require me to periodically pause to allow the liver enzymes to go back down. I'm nowhere near that, my liver enzymes are exactly what they are supposed to be.
But my longevity depends on being on Trikafta cause without it last year, my lung function was 67%. Granted, that's only because I had a serious lung infection cause as my alcohol addiction caused me to have to get off Trikafta, I became very vulnerable to infection.
I suspect if CF does one day kill me, it won't be from progressive lung failure, but a sudden infection. So that's a concern, but with my big changes and very attentive cleaning and hygiene lately, I hope to live long past the 37-45 year estimate i always had until Trikafta came along and changed my life.
Now that I'm not drinking and puking anymore and my liver is healthy, I'm back on Trikafta, and even if I try to cough, nothing. I went from coughing all day every day to never at all. To everyone who had anything to do with my life changing for the better, thank you10 Reply

Peace of mind, strong relationships, and a life that feels aligned.
By 40, it’s less about collecting things and more about clarity knowing who you are, what matters to you, and having people around who genuinely care.
Security is nice, but inner stability is the real goal.30 Reply

That’s such a beautiful combo, a home and a book with your name on it 📚🏡
By 40, I’d love to have a cozy home filled with my own paintings and shelves of films and art books, a few of my graphic-novel-style stories published, and the freedom to travel for festivals and exhibitions whenever I want.

And that's without factoring in at all what price the boxes actually go up to in the long run. Let's say that collection doubles which is me being super lowballing it because boxes easily x3, x4, x5 depending how long you've held onto it, that would be 210000.
So yeah as you can see I am planning to be rich by 40. And for ease of concept I left out other important details that will make that much higher, and the fact I'm knowledgeable on what to hold and what not to. It's a slow way to get rich but that's how life works, get rich quick schemes won't lead to anything.23 Reply- 5 mo
@slatyb Nah because it's not a fad Beanie babies I wasn't old enough to know of but I guess they only lasted in the 90s right?
This has been successful for 30 years and still growing, at the moment in we are in a boom so there is inflated hype but that's not a fad. A fad dies after that hypes leaves while something that isn't manages to hold on.
When the next crash happens it's important to keep buying as a boom will come again, and in the long run short term noise means nothing. I experienced the bare market in 2020-23 which they survived through, and before that there had been similar crashes that I did not get to experience but know of.
Each time the product comes back stronger than ever after with a boom.
People genuinely collect and want this unlike fads, even during crashes people are still buying up product for themselves. The best way to look at is 40% is inflated by investors and scalpers but 60% of is genuine collectors.
Something happens that scares off the 40% but the 60% still love it. Keeping it successful even in a bad market. Then in a good market that 40% comes back making it go crazy. Meanwhile a fad it does not have that 60% who care to stay around collecting it because they do like actually like it.
An important thing is look at volume of sales not the price, because in a crash you'll see the volume of sales is still high and product is limited. But a lot of bad investors just look at the price. Same thing is going on with Spider-man Collector boxes right now, dumped on amazon for 300 yet were 400 on release. And everyone is clowning on the price stating it's an awful product.
Yet... it sells on average 10 boxes a day on Tcgplayer which is less than accurate as there would be more since it does not calculate for sales from other places.
And meanwhile I have 3 boxes cause I looked at the volume and went yeah these are going to very limited in supply by this time next year. Nvm in years. And that will naturally make them boom.

5 moWell year 40 already came in went. i was in a shitty relationship at the time im sooo glad i got out of when i did.
it was a year i really had to step up and help my father who was drinking heavily at the time. so i took a whole lot of time to get him back on track, i feel like i succeeded with that cause he stopped drinking and we go out walking semi regularly. i feel with all my heart that if i wasn't still living at home he wouldn't be alive today. sorry getting a little teary eyed here... it was a struggle and i managed to overcome it with a lot of dedication and patience. :)
i hope for the best for you when you reach age 40 :)

372 opinions shared on Entertainment & Arts topic. i really hope i never see anywhere near 40, aging is terrifying. but if i did, i'd ideally want to have achieved career success and be earning at least 6 figures, with 2-3kids, a good husband who's like a best friend, have become truly good at a couple things, have travelled a lot, have realized a lot of my wishes and dreams and can speak two more languages.

5 moI'm well past 40 now, so let me take a look back to my younger days.

I am fortunate to have achieved all of that.
10 Reply 1.2K opinions shared on Entertainment & Arts topic. You hope to have published book? How much have you written so far? What do you mean by "published"? Do you mean self-published on line, or in print in bookstores? One is easy, the second is quite difficult.
18 Reply- 5 mo
I have written about 30 pages so far but I have a long way to go. I would like to have it in print in bookstores but it might have to be self-published on line.
- 5 mo
Who has seen it? Do you know anyone who writes? Who teaches college English? Who has read extensively? Getting a book in print requires that you first get the attention of a literary agent who decides your work has merit. Alternatively you can self-publish on Amazon and see what people think.
- 5 mo
No one has seen it yet but I'm hoping to get a literary agent once its complete.

I'm writing my memoir of the things I've experienced in college and later on. It will detail my first time, the sexual assault that I went through, my mental health I endured where I found out I had schizophrenia and depression at 29, and my first real relationship at 31 and then breakup at 32 and how that affected my mental health.
