I wouldn’t say addicted, but I definitely use it a lot 😅
I’m on Instagram and Letterboxd the most, mostly for art, movies, festival content, and exhibition updates.
Sometimes I slip into endless scrolling, especially on TikTok edits of K-dramas or Cannes red carpet clips, so I set app limits.
It’s more inspiration and networking than pure doomscrolling for me. 📱🎬🎨

There are I think two distinctive aspects of addiction to social media.

1. Is your day not complete if you haven't interacted on social and are you continuously checking it.

2. Are you careful not to contradict prevailing views on social media in the same way you would be careful not to discuss the physical details of a hot random hookup with your parents?

That is basically two levels of addiction.

There is a lot of good evidence that female views changed substantially with social media. Being part of the group was a survival issue for Ancient Girl because of pregnancy, childbirth and nursing. So not getting excluded from the group is an evolved need in the female pysche.

It is suborning oneself to group think and a higher level of addiction because it is submission instead of merely getting a dopamine hit from likes.

Of course many guys succumb as well (we are on social media here!) but with our evolutionary history we are not as vulnerable as girls are.

Fu*k NO. …I make it work for me, and use it sparingly for niche purposes, mainly for fun or base level amusement, and always under pseudonyms!
I can’t imagine actually using it for its intended purpose—like posting pics and random shit about my life, in public, for the consumption of others, or for viewing, interacting, and keeping up with people on—No way.

Plus all the people I want to hang with are not on there, and are out in the real world doing better stuff.

I troll constantly, here, facebook, instagram, X, all over... I sometimes visit MySpace to remember the internet before I just trolled it... it's peaceful there... friendships that once was but they don't ever log in now... like I'm the last one on earth.

I am social media... If you're here you can't escaape me... my seed feeds my birds.

Not at all I don’t have an addictive personality.  Social media - I stay away … kills time. Time - can’t buy back.  I am drying my hair and typing just for fun… then I have other things to do.

For me I think I like interacting with what i like interacting with, but i dont like seeing other people's 'where I've reached in life posts'. Facebook mostly is that bum. X is okay. Whatsapp is also a bum.
