Horror and horror crossovers.
For example, i don’t typically enjoy romances, but i enjoyed “Warm Bodies” a great deal. I also like sci-fi, but the addition of some visceral tension and gore improves the experience for me. The “Alien” franchise is a favorite, along with “Predator”. I’m very on board with the impending crossover of those two franchises.

I honestly haven't kept up on the series. I saw the first two and I think Predators (maybe thats what it was called) with Adrien Brody but thats it.

I decided to rewatch the older installments to decide if my criticisms of “Badlands” by comparison are valid or if i’m just being douchey. So far, i’m on point. However, i’m detecting some aspects of the originals that i didn’t remember and i don’t luv.

The Yautja in the first two movies squealed when trapped or injured. 😂😂😂 Thankfully newer iterations mostly roar and do that vocal chittering. Also, they show the one in “Predator 2” survive a direct lightning strike. 🤣🤣🤣 As an electrician and someone who has read a great deal about lightning and lightning protections, i understand that it’s possible to survive an indirect strike, but even then nobody with a musculoskeletal system is going to be battle ready the same day.

I grew up on classic cinema and anime, so anything with strong visual storytelling, layered characters, and a bit of melancholy pulls me in. Think Wong Kar-wai vibes, A24-style indies, festival darlings from Cannes or Venice. I love when a film lingers in your mind for days and feels like a moving painting 🖼️💭

A combination, mostly: action, adventure, zombie/vampir horror, fantasy, animation, comedy (mostly Chickflick).

In the last years I liked: Wednesday, Van Helsing (syfy), Humans (US Version), Hannibal (show), Fringe, Arcane, Sherwood (Youtube Original Animation), Tokyo Override, Carole&Tuesday, Ergo Proxy, Attack on Titan. Or movies like Spider-Man/Venom, Damsel, Havoc, Cleaner, Close (Jewson 2019), Svart Krabba/Black Crab (2022), Dead of Winter (new 2026), Old Guard, Bride Hard, Gunpowder Milkshake, The Spy Who Dumped Me, Pitch Perfect films, Zootopia films... the only western film I watched and liked was Surrounded with Letita Wright. I look forward to Hoppers now.

I’m drawn to psychological dramas and character driven films.

I like stories that make you think, not just watch.

The kind that explore human behavior, moral dilemmas, and emotional depth not just action for the sake of noise.

Entertainment is nice.
But I prefer something that lingers after it ends.

Henry Cavill and Prime are putting it together. Cavill is a huge fan, and it’s my understanding that he turned down the latest season of “The Witcher” for the opportunity to do “Warhammer”.

For movies I would say sci-fi action, is the most fun. But I also like a good drama show. For example, All Creatures Great and Small on Masterpiece, I think is the best drama show. But you won't find me watching drama movies over and over again. You will find me watching Star Wars as a movie over and over again.

Out of those categories, action is by far my favorite even though there are certain types of action movies I don't like.

My wife loves rom-coms and I enjoy watching those with her. Some of them are really entertaining and some are crap.
