I’m such a live‑music girl, especially for rock, jazz, or indie. The imperfect moments, crowd energy, and little improvisations give me chills 😍 But for focus or painting, I go for studio versions.

One live track I’m obsessed with is “Fix You” by Coldplay from their live concerts. Emotionally devastating in the best way. 🎶

Up until a few years ago, I was okay with live stuff but preferred original studio recordings. About 20 years ago, I put my huge King Crimson collection together which included LOADS of live concerts and, when listening to it all in chronologic order, it gets quite boring to have to hear the same songs played over and over again and, quite often, in the same running order, and then, I did the same with my massive Tangerine Dream collection and, again, it got boring hearing the same songs dozens of times over and it just got me almost completely off of live recordings!!
I used to think it'd be REALLY cool to be able to listen to ALL of each band's output in that order to see how they progress over the years and figured I'd listen to each collection several times over after assembling it. So far, I've heard the King Crimson collection 2 or 3 times and just finished the first pass of the TD collection a few months ago. I don't really have a strong urge to listen to either one again any time soon. I MIGHT have another pass WITHOUT any of the live stuff, though. I started doing that with TD about 2 months ago and it's a bit better this way.
I'm still gonna assemble one for The Beatles and XTC but, neither really has very much live material so, it's not gonna be very boring except for, maybe, the Get Back sessions.

there are some great live performances that have been recorded and released. Also there are many You Tube videos of live performances. I saw this performed live, not at this particular place but it was during the same tour.

I like both, but usually prefer live versions that aren't too different from the studio version, but having said that, some unplugged versions of songs are amazing.
