If you seen the movie, why is Forrest Gump a good movie?

I saw it and I thought the movie seriously sucks.

Complete waste of my time and the movie is long too which made it even worse to endure.

This movie actually won an award too.

It's just a yarn that carries you sweetly from beginning to end and provides light entertainment. Hanks acted well. The script is above average. The cinematography is blah. I enjoyed it as chewing gum for the brain.

Is it art? It's not a piece likely to evoke an emotional response, nor to challenge your perspective on life.

I liked it. Maybe you set your expectations too high. It’s kind of spoof, and there was a fair bit of humor.
The awards are just Hollyweird politics. Sometimes bad movies get awards and sometimes good movies get overlooked.

Well, I love history so I love how the movie has some historical elements in it. So, in some ways, Forrest Gump is a historical fiction film.
