I'm indifferent. My son likes the first movie, which is... okay, I guess. It's not terrible, but I have some critiques...

• I hate how it's a joke and Mario himself is the punchline and how he's kind of a loser.
• Bowser is also a joke. Sure, it's a kids' movie, but the villain still has to have some teeth to him.
• Who on earth though casting Chris Pratt as Mario was a good idea?

And I could have done without all the nostalgia soundtrack.

Nonetheless, I'll still probably take my son to see the new one when it comes out.

so excited. somehow i didn't even realize the movie was coming out til about a week ago. the last movie was really fun and it was especially cool cause my kids and I could enjoy it. definitely looking forward to it... it better not disappoint
