What memorable film have you watched recently or a new favourite?

I was really taken aback (delightfully, monumentally) when I watched the film How To Make A Killing because for months it kept popping in whenever I went to see a different movie in theatres/cinemas.

And so I watched it weeks ago when it came out - I was and still remain very impressed with Powell's work and the director with the art, the lighting, the setting of many scenes - 🎭🎨 πŸŽ₯

The *religiously* type scenes especially - the thoughtful scenes. And the ones were you see Beckett (is that his name) reflecting on his prized item - spoilers, the locket. Or the spoilers the scene where the priest remarks in prison with him softly observing, hearing halfway his story "you... were content" - I was content he says. Because spoilers he has a stable job, stable life, but that locket. That locket πŸ”’πŸ”

Anyways what a wonderful movie. I don't condone the darker aspects, and neither does the film or its title - I appreciated the character journey and use of a padre (father, a priest) just like on another famous old movie starring James Coburn and some prisoner guy who asks for a priest on his final moments in the film. πŸŽ₯

No spoilers lol - what's been your fave film lately? The Devil Wears Prada 2 also looks very fine.

Note - 👀 I liked how the kept the priest unexplained, either as Catholic, or as Protestant - non denominational, even. Yet the purple, the black, the silver and the white - outfit. Praise be 😈✝️ 5 star movie.

How *they (typo) kept the priest uncredited as Roman Catholic or Protestant or Episcopal or Other 😈✝️
