How beautiful are Connemara ponies compared with other horse breeds?

My wife and I drove through Connemara several years ago and stopped to see some horses in a pasture. A guy was leading one and when we asked him if they were genuine Connemara ponies, he said yes.
I don't know much about horses, but they were beautiful and very friendly. A couple came to the fence and we fed them grass. My wife took some photos.
