I was introduced to “SpongeBob” as an adult. A friend had a young child who watched the show and he recognized the parallel writing that keeps adults from being bored or frustrated by kids’ programming. That’s actually an old standard. As an adult, i’ve gone back to watching some of the “Looney Tunes” that i luv’d as a child. It’s still quite entertaining, but i laugh at different bits.

I watched it as a kid, I watch it as an adult. It's like a comfort show to me, I don't watch the newer seasons of the show. Post Movie I think the quietly of sponge bob went down. And the latest episodes are just not very good. Spongebob is far more annoying the humor is less clever and the show is so over saturated

Never watched it. It's one of those newer bland children shows that I never liked. I prefered older ones with real evil assholes which are funny on their weird way.
Girls generally have less childhood nostalgia than boys.

I do from time to time. Just like The Simpsons, Family Guy, American Dad, and South Park, SpongeBob is not really a kids show. The underlying humor is catered more for adults.

It’s been a fair while since I’ve seen it but I definitely watched it as an adult. Usually in conjunction with recreational drugs.
