What hokey or weird hobby are you secretly passionate about?

Mine is professional wrestling. My grandparents loved it when I was a kid and as a teenager I fell in love with it, even if it's not as good as it once was, I still enjoy it. It's like athletics mixed with campy theatre.

Sailboat racing at all levels, except the America's Cup, which has been ruined by billionaires. I'm not really interested in being a spectator at any of these races, since they are actually about as exciting as watching grass grow. Instead, I like participating in them, which I've been doing since I was about five years old - And to participate is a whole different deal. It's extremely exciting and very dangerous as well. I also don't race on lakes, although some people do, and have a pretty good time. The only lake that I've ever raced on, which was actually fun, was Lake Michigan. Other lakes, generally speaking, are just too small. On the other hand, I've done a lot of ocean racing, including very long-distance racing and ocean cruising. The oceans aren't small at all, as you've probably noticed.

Is there a special kind of tree or bush that you plant in order to get bonsai? I always thought that bonsai had more to do with a kind of trimming feeding that you give a plant but I don't really know anything about it. What is it that makes a plant a bonsai?

@msc545 It's the same seeds as the full size trees. They are grown in small pots and pruned elegantly, encouraging thickening of trunks and desirable shapes.

Mine is probably obsessively following film festivals and red carpets like it’s a sport. I’ll stay up all night streaming Cannes premieres, checking who wore what, who got a 7-minute standing ovation, then go hunt down every indie film that screened there and make little “awards” lists for myself 🏆🎬
