Right now I’m obsessed with Måneskin 🎸
They’ve got that glam-rock, slightly theatrical vibe I love, like a modern mix of Queen and old-school punk. Rock in general still hasn't really recovered from the events of the early to mid nineties. I was working at Guitar Center at the time, and the first few dominos to fall were: Metallica coming out with a lot of acoustic ballads, while even their harder material, like 'Enter Sandman' was mostly insipid crap. Then, of course, the whole Seattle/grunge pop scene became a national phenomenon. In response, metal gradually became a caricature of itself, becoming ever harder, faster and with unintelligible vocals.

I don't know. What do you consider, "new"? But "obsessed" is a strong word. I have a few that peaked my interest, but I certainly wouldn't say I'm obsessed with them.
