We're not subscribed to any streaming services, so I watch free movies, usually on Youtube.
I lean toward action and action-adventure, but I watch a variety of genres. My wife likes romance and rom-coms.
I watch on my laptop and she watches on her iPad. But when we watch movies together, I tether my laptop to our 48" flat screen TV.

TV could be a show, movie, baseball, whatever my son is watching. On the laptop, I really just play a youtube video every once in a while. It's mostly for playing music, doing some work, sending e-mails, looking things up, etc.

I, basically, stopped watching t. v. back in the early `90's then sort of got back into it about 6 years ago and then stopped again a year later and if I wanna watch something, I've got loads of DVD's I can watch or YT videos.

Addendum: I mostly watch comedy shows from the `50's to the `90's, usually amongst my DVD collection. (Soap, Barney Miller, The Bowery Boys, My Favorite Martian, F-Troop, Hogan's Heroes, Green Acres, The Beverly Hillbillies, The Addams Family, M*A*S*H,), a couple sci-fi shows from the `60's to `00's (The Outer Limits, Heroes, The Journeyman, Chuck [spy, sci-fi-comedy]). I've recently been getting into a lot of spy shows (The Avengers, The Man From U. N. C. L. E., I Spy, Danger Man, Honey West, Mission: Impossible, The Prisoner, The Wild Wild West, James Bond, Hogan's Heroes (it's basically a spy show), and things like "Columbo" and "Banacek" as well as lots of old cartoons from the `30's to `60's.
On YT: 'Larry", "Gutfeld", various semi-political shows, lots of stuff about The Beatles and various other records, comedy videos, although a lot of them turn out to not be so funny! Instructional stuff, if I need it or just things that knda catch my interest for the moment. Been watching a lot of Efren Reyes videos, recently, too!
For the most part, the only time I watch videos is when I'm eating or if I spotted a few that were fairly short and I can get through them in a short while.
