Hard to say for sure. One of the movies in “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy is almost four hours if you watch the special extended edition, but i don’t remember which one that is. Seems like the three together were over ten hours and i just binged them earlier this year.
Seems like “The Hobbit” trilogy played out pretty similarly time wise. Again. i don’t recall precisely which is longest.
I don't time them and I don't keep track of them. I'm sure I've seen some long movies.
Thanks for MHO
Avatar: The Way of Water felt like it would last forever. I saw it in theaters and couldn’t wait for it to be over. I searched and it said it’s 3.12, felt like a full 4 hours. Maybe cause it made no sense to me lol. I have to admit the graphics were really on point though. Needless to say I didn’t go back to watch Fire and Ash.
im guessing one of the extended lord of the rings movies?🤔🤔 but i have no idea how long any movies are lol😅 and i could deff not last through a 3.7 hour movie omgg
Yeah I heard others say that the extended LOTR movies is really long too!
I guess you'd need a lot of chocolate and chocolate ice-cream breaks? 😜😂
Mine is Satantango (1994) at 7 hours 19 minutes 😅. I watched it during a Bela Tarr retrospective at an art cinema, with a couple of breaks. It’s insanely slow, black‑and‑white, and hypnotic, but visually incredible.
Runner‑up is the full extended Lord of the Rings marathon in one day, which felt like moving into Middle‑earth permanently 😂🎬

Gone With The Wind. It ran 221 minutes.
My parents took me and my brother to see it at the drive in. It started to get light outside so we had to go back the next night to see how it ended.
The longest version, so far, of, "Woodstock".
Unless you wanna count, "Taken", which was a 10 part movie, or was a 5 part movie that ran 10 hours? Or, was "Roots" the longest?
There are only three Taken movies, each one with a standalone story.
@DryGermanGuy I know of two of them but, the one I'm talking about is the first movie (that I know oof) starring Dakota Fanning. I think it was a 10-part series or a 5-part series that ran 10 hours.
I’d have to say, Kill Bill 1 and 2 because it was intended to be a one length film but didn’t due to an audience probably wouldn’t sit for that whole length of film so they split it into two parts.
If we are being traditional, not simply in theory then probably Pulp Fiction (had to look at my library to compare length of films, so close was Terminator 2 Judgement Day).
Evangelion: 3.0+1.0
Thrice Upon a Time
The Ten Commandments (1956), 3hrs. 40 min.
Ghandi. Over 3 hrs.
Dr. Zhivago. Over 3 hrs.
Lord of the Rings: Return of the King
4h 3min without credits
It must be Cleopatra (1963) – 4 hours, 8 minutes - in one of the old, ornate movie palaces.
Titanic felt like it went for DAYS !
Honestly I don't know beyond that.
Resan at 800+ minutes. I can't remember its exact length.
Definitely Titanic for me. Not including the Back To The Future trilogy even though I count it as one movie because they pick up where they left off.
La belle noiseuse was 3hr58m of... errr... artistic education.
Cleopatra followed by Zack Snyder's Justice League.
I think it’s Midway or lawrence of Arabia But I was a kid watching this
Carlos, Das Boot, Dances with Wolves.
LOTR movies and Titanic. I don't think I've seen another long one since LOTT
Lawrence Of Araba
Return of the King extended addition.
I get bored with longest films.
Either LOTR extended or the Longest Day
Lord of the rings all 3 parts in a run.
The Ten Commandments
That’s the best Charlton Heston movie. One of the best lines is when Ramses comes back after all the Egyptians we’re swept into the Red Sea and his wife said, “Ypu couldn’t even kill him!” And he replied, “His God is God!”
Yep it is!
Zack snyder's justice league
Probably grindhouse
Gone With The Wind.
