What is it about Scorpios that makes them unapproachable/intimidating?

This is a question to believers of astrology like me, ahaha ;) So whenever my friends and I talk about our first impressions of each other, almost all say that they thought I was unapproachable and not very friendly when they first met me, lol. I find it pretty funny because now they always comment on how sensitive and caring I am, but I guess I just wonder that mostly seems to be the case with Scorpios.

I know I come across as serious and VERY quiet at first but I find it ridiculous that I'm mainly the one that has to initiate contact with people. On the other hand, I watch people being approached all the time as if their energy just draws people in naturally, ahaha :) My question is: Do you find Scorpios intimidating too? Do you have any Scorpio friends that you were originally a little intimidated to approach or initiate contact? If you're a Scorpio, do you find that people tend to seem a little... frightened sometimes by your presence?

I just always got the sense that people aren't comfortable making eye contact with me for whatever reason. That makes me a little sad because they always say your eyes are the windows to your soul and maybe that means people don't think I have a good one? Please share your thoughts and ideas about this & personal experiences if possible :) Thanks! :)

Well, I am not a Scorpio, but at least 7 members and 3 of my close family members, and several friends are Scorpios!

I think they have an air of mystery to them. Depending on the person, some have this "bad boy" type of thing going on, where they seem tough but are not as mean as you might think. The other ones are usually very sensitive and in touch with their emotions.

Intensity is another word that comes to mind. Sometimes they can look intensely at you, not on purpose it's just how they are. When I talk with them, they are intense throughout the conversation. This can sometimes make them seem super serious, but they have a playful side as well.

All I know is, I would not make a Scorpio angry. They tend to hold on to grudges for a really long time.

I think you're right but I fall under the sensitive and intense category, aahah :) I'm actually more of the goody two shoes type which drives my sister crazy sometimes :P Just wanted to put the message out there that Scorpios are sweeter than people would expect and it just takes us a while to warm up to people :)

I agree with you, I think most are sweeter than people expect. But that can be said of other signs as well. My brother is actually very sweet, and helpful to so many but he has this "tough guy" exterior (the tats, piercings, longer hair and beard). He's a Scorpio, and with new people he can be quiet, with me he's always been hilarious with the jokes and supportive. He volunteers with charities and bakes things all the time for children and the elderly (he is the manager at a bakery).

I try my best not to judge a book by it's cover, and to get to know a person. :) I generally get along with most, just a few here and there I'd rather avoid (of any sign lol).

I'm a Scorpio! And I have no idea. I mean, I'm a little quiet and serious (especially when I'm nervous. I loosen up when with friends), and I always have to get up the guts to approach someone when people won't approach me. But yeah, people do seem intimidated by me. Other than being quiet and shy, I don't know why people would be intimidated... People always act awkward and stiff around me until they get to know me. I have to put out the effort to get to that point lol.

I know! I just wanna broadcast to the world that I'm a very sweet person once they get to know me :) I will say, however, that when I'm feeling shy/awkward I purposely project a barrier that I sort of use as a defense mechanism to keep me safe from potential rejection, ahaha :) Maybe that's where it stems from :)

Absolutely, ahaha :) I'm very stubborn and my best friend is a Taurus so we sometimes get into arguments and make up almost instantly because it's usually not even about the actual fight, ahaha :) It's more about who stands their ground and the battle of stubbornness, ahaha :P

I am a male scorpio and I'm kind of a premium blend of all types. I'm 6'0 250 lbs, built wide but fairly fit, and definitely carry an air of mystery about me. I'm a good looking guy but because of the way I carry myself a lot of people think for a second before talking to me. Once they begin to interact with me they quickly find that I'm caring, loving, and in touch with myself. These qualities have made me magnetic in friendship. Its even hard to get people out of my life that overbearing because I hate that. I'm an INFP so I love my personal space and love being alone. I love being a scorpio; my creative soul is a perfect fit for my sign.
