Should I invite my estranged sister to my wedding?

So my sister and I have not seen each other since 2014. Since then, we’ve sent a few texts, happy birthday and the like, which I’ve continued, but she hasn’t reciprocated since early 2019. My mum is undiagnosed NPD or at least NPD traits and she decided at the behest of a counsellor to cut off our side of the family. She’s even had another kid in the last five years she didn’t tell any of us about.

I’m getting married next year, and I would like her and her family at the wedding. But it’s been so long that I don’t know if I should invite her, and even if I did I’m not sure she would even come! Which would break my heart all the more, given I was her maid of honour at her wedding in 2009.

Would appreciate any advice!

I need more information to help. What do you mean by your side of the family? You still associate with your mom but your sister doesn’t? Or your mom doesn’t associate with any of you? Why are you and your sister estranged?

She doesn’t speak to my mum, and by extension my dad, me, any of my siblings as she “doesn’t want my mum to know anything about her life now”.

Oh i see. Well I think you should invite her mainly as a matter of courtesy but you shouldn’t expect her to come.

Yes by all means send her the invite. Even if she chooses not come at least she can never say that you didn't even invite her.
