If you had a 13 year old child, would you let that kid shop at the grocery store alone with adult supervision?

if the store was walking distance from my home and i trusted the neighborhood and the people running the store, i would. But It would be very uncommon, and for 1 or two items that we needed in an emergency.

Nope - not these days.

I had to be 12 before I could go to the store alone when I was a kid, and it was a short 2-block walk. But things have changed a lot since then - that was around 58 years ago!

By age 13, I would have -and did - instill enough education by example and teaching to be able to trust him to perform simple activities.

They're old enough to take responsibility at that age so yes

It’s the parents that need to teach the child street safety etc.

Depends where you live, if you live in an area with a lot of crime no but otherwise yes

I would, depending on the area we're living in. But I mean, I was already going to town by myself when I was 9.
Sure it was a safe town but still

Yeah it’s not that young, some are even having sex at that age but I used to go even younger to the store
