Is it ok not to sot next to your boyfriend when you go out to eat with a group?

Ever month I go out with my boy friend like 3 friends now I can’t sit on the end of a booth bad experience as a child and he can’t sit at the end because of a way he fells like he going to fall so we don’t sit next to eachother so I always sit next to my friend or my guy best friend but I’m always across from my boy friend so I’m going out again this weekend and my friend said you should sit next to your boyfriend who cares who is on the end she told that with a attitude but is it wrong

I don't think it's a big deal. My wife and I don't always sit next to each other and also we kind of split off in terms of who we socialize with when hanging out with our friends only to kind of join back in again in a group and then split off again.

I think I actually prefer sitting next to or across other people because I get to talk to my wife all the time at home and when we're going out and it's just the two of us. So if we're with our friends, I want to sit next to someone else and also talk to some other people.
