Who gets held up in a friend hold?

Weird and stupid question, I know. But when friends hold one friend in the air like pictured, how do they decided who's getting held? Is it the leader usually?

So I have a prom picture like this where me, my date, and my best friends date all held up my best friend. We wanted some silly pictures so go with the formal ones and I turned to my best friend and said "give me your legs, we're picking you up" and she did just that! She was the lightest one of us so it was funny to pretend like she was super heavy and we all look like we're struggling in the picture lol.

She was the best person for this because 1. She has no personal space; 2. She was the lightest person there; 3. She is the most likely person to be okay with the joke we made since she knew she was skinny and was actually trying to gain some weight.

That's the only lifting picture I have that isn't a college tradition - related thing. I went to Notre Dame and there's this tradition you can see going on in the student section where people do "push ups" but by lifting other students over their heads and pushing up for every point scored 😅 good fun until we start scoring a bunch!!
