Girls, why don’t you like seeing guy friends 1 on 1 too much or becoming too close to them?

I have a guy best friend who is my only exception to this, no matter how much time I spend with him 1 on 1 it’s always platonic. But in the past everytime I’ve spent too much time around a guy friend 1 on 1 too frequently, they’ve caught feelings for me which ends the friendship. So that’s why I don’t like doing that too much except for with my best friend.

In what way does it end the friendship?

Well if I’m not interested in them romantically or sexually, then it’s uncomfortable continuing a friendship with someone who has feelings for me. I don’t see a point in leading them on, so to speak. I don’t want to give them false hope. Plus I have tried twice before to continue a friendship after finding out about how they feel, and it’s never ended well.

How did it end?

The first one kept flirting with me after rejection, and being overly nice in the hopes I would change my mind and date him. It was super uncomfortable. After about a month out of the blue he messaged me and called me an ugly b*tch and told me to die and then he blocked me.

The second one became a jealous freak. Everytime I spent time with anyone else other than him, he’d accuse me of sleeping with them or accuse me of dating them. Even when I was spending time with my own mother or father or siblings. And then he would have big outbursts at me whenever I told him he was being ridiculous, like temper tantrums. And then the next mornings he would always apologise and say it’ll never happen again, and then do it over and over. After a few weeks I got tired of it and told him to have a good life and told him I hope he gets the therapy he desperately needs, and then I blocked him on everything and I changed my cell number since he seemed like the type of psycho to harass me any way that he could.

Both these guys seemed like normal friendly people when we were just friends. The first guy I was friends with for 5 months before he told me he loved me, and the second guy I was friends with for a year before he told me he loved me.
