Is it normal to have older friends then you're actual age?

I am about to turn 30 this week. The thing is I never had real friends at the time when I was in a school or woman my own age ignore my existence or would talk shit behind my back. Even still now as an adult I have weird awkward silence with people my own age I just don't click. As of now I have friends that are ages 38-late 40's. One of my best friends she is 45 and we talked about everything. Even in dating my boyfriend he is 39 and I will be 30 soon. Or people from other generation are way less dramatic?

Of course it’s normal. Just because they’re older doesn’t make them any less relatable or weird to connect with. Some of my closest friends at 27-29 were in their 50s..

I’ve heard that in the past but what I’d get told most often was that I was mature for my age. I don’t purposely choose to have older friends, as I’m welcoming to all, but I connect more with the older crowd. Usually less drama and more wisdom since they’ve been through all the things I’m going through now.

I had a group of guys that sort of adopted me when I was 15 or 16. These guys were all around 20. They were the big brother I never had.
