How much effort do you put into your friends birthdays?

We set up a picnic with some food and drinks a few hours before and surprised my friend for her birthday. Then we just hung out for a few hours and it was very nice. It fid take a lot of planning though and carrying a bunch of stuff to the park.

Usually house party or trip out for a meal in town.

close friends I tend to go OTT lol.

not so close friends we try to chip in and get something practical or nice etc, rather than lost of cheap shit.

Where possible we sort of spring a surprise on them.

I make their cakes and I always put a lot of thought into their gifts. We usually go out drinking or chill at someone's house with drinks around a fire with music and good food. Paly games and just have a good time.

I'm usually the one to plan gatherings based on what they like, it does take a fair amount of effort in planning, but I try to pick things I can enjoy once we're there.

We usually just hang out and do something simple. We’re older now so we don’t care about huge parties most of the time unless it’s a big milestone birthday like 16, 18, 21, 25. Ages like that, in that case then we throw huge bashes for each other
