What were you like as a teenager?

As a teenager I was the artistic free spirit that loved hanging out with her friends whether that was at the mall, football games, or even at parties. If I wasn't hanging out with friends I was at home playing computer games, watching YouTube videos, making/editing YouTube videos, creative writing, painting, and even ceramics. Listened to a lot of bands including My Chemical Romance, Falling in Reverse, Black Veil Brides, Escape the Fate, etc. (and I still do especially My Chemical Romance). I was a good student that passed all her test and exams, always had their homework turned in. But did get detention a few times whether that was for doing a dare but moreso for tardiness. I wasn't popular but was well known and had a lot of friends and we would go out and be wild and crazy. The guys I dated had piercings, tattoos, rode motorcycles, and a few played in metal bands. Style of choice back then was anything black, dark colored, and studded. Now it's something pastel and girly, so my style of choice definitely changed as well.

I was shy, anxious, quiet, and kind, while also being self centered, arrogant, and untrustworthy. I had a lot of trauma and issues start right as I became a teenager. I had two sides of me. I was always the shy and kind kid, but I kept a wall up to protect that side of me.


Once I hit highschool, it was really “game on” for masking my feelings deep within. I started to smoke weed, ditch school, vape, and take other drugs. I just wanted to feel something else other than feeling hurt, angry, or scared. I was still that shy and kind girl, but I wore a mask. I got into a lot of trouble in school, up until maybe junior and senior year of high school. I started to do better, get sober, find better friends, and begin being the shy, kind, anxious girl again.


I was an asshole at the ages 13-16 years old. so was angsty, I was just hurt. I rebelled and I didn’t want people to take advantage of the other side of me, like I said, I put a wall up to protect that nice side of me. That ended up working for some time, but I couldn’t keep it up because it just wasn’t me. I tried to fit in with the other kids who were (very obviously) just as hurt as I was and had their own issues. I would ditch school, smoke weed, lie to everyone, steal $1 bills from my parents, and just be self centered. I think I did this because I wanted my parents to notice that I needed them and some help.


In my later teens, I got sober, switched schools, and did better. When I graduated highschool (18 years old, but still a teen technically), I did really well! It was during covid, so I kinda was alone. I cut contact from all my school friends and decided to start fresh. I did college online, got a boyfriend, got my license, got my first real job, and was doing good. My boyfriend was my only friend I hung out with, as pathetic as that sounds, but I enjoyed it because I was able to focus a lot on my progress to doing better.


Anyways, since I’m 20 now, I will reminisce on my 18-19 years old “teen years” lol. I was naive but a lot better than how I used to be. Life is a constant rollercoaster of change, and I changed a lot, for the better. Especially at 19, I think I really ended my naive, angsty, selfish, irresponsible, and childish teenage ways.

I was very outgoing. I was a cheerleader and dancer, I got along with most everyone. I was a bit rebellious, boy crazy, flirty, I was almost always in a great mood.

13 - 16 really crap lol.
drinking, fighting, shop lifting, sex, parties, police etc

16- 19 was Air Force and different person lol.

I was sullen and angry. I did not belong to any clubs. instead I lifted weights at a gym in another town so I would not have to see anyone I knew. I was a real loner.

More shy and reserved. Still talkative but more of a closet freak. Been publicly freaky since 16 but i was straight freaknasty by time i turned 21. I was also more booksmart and focused on my studies age 7 to 23. I didn't become more play then work until last year

I was really shy, I didn't have many friends. I had good grades and teachers knew me and liked me. I didn't have a boyfriend but all my crushes were popular guys or athletes. Didn't go to the parties, except from the prom and it was the best night of my life!
So my teenage years weren't that exciting Lol

Always going to concerts to see popular bands. During the hippie era, I was a little hippy girl. Somewhat popular. Lots of friends. Going to the beach a lot because it was 2 blocks from my house. Started driving my Mom 63 Chevy Impala at 16. Going to drive-in movies all the time. Listening to rock and roll music in my bedroom wearing my headphones on loud! I was caring, a good friend, sweet, and an instigator at times.

Troubled. Rebellious. Ft like the world was against me though I created a lot of my own problems. Got into fights, skipped school, back talked teachers. Still did pretty well in school when I bothered going.
